How to choose a digital marketing agency in India
Choose the agency that understands your business problem, shows relevant results with real clients, separates fees from ad spend, gives you ownership of every account, and is honest about what it can't guarantee.
10 questions to ask
1. What do you think our real problem is? 2. Which similar clients have you worked with, and can we speak to one? 3. Who will actually run our account? 4. What will you do in the first 30, 60 and 90 days? 5. How do you separate your fee from ad spend? 6. Who owns the ad accounts, pages, website and data? 7. Which numbers will you report every month? 8. How quickly do you respond to leads and to us? 9. What do you need from our side? 10. What happens if we stop?
Red flags
Guaranteed rankings, leads or followers; ad accounts created in the agency's name; vague deliverables; long lock-in contracts; reports full of impressions but no enquiries.
Pricing models
Fixed monthly retainer, percentage of ad spend (commonly 10–20%), per project, or performance-based. Fixed retainers are easiest to compare; percentage models suit larger ad budgets.
Big agency or specialist?
Large agencies bring scale; specialists and consultancies bring senior attention and category knowledge. Pick based on who will actually do the work.
